Job Description
Shift Charge Handover & Takeover
- Every Shift incharge is responsible for proper shift handover and takeover
- While taking handover and takeover should ensure debriefing about critical points of the last shift requires special consideration
- Ensure that the operators also follow the concept of Shift handover & takeover
- Manpower allocation machine-wise to check and arrange to start every shift on time in the lamination Section
- Minimum overtime concept to keep in mind while allocating manpower and also to coordinate with other departments to maximize manpower utilization based on workload.
Machine Planning
- Plan the production as per the program received from the section incharge & ensure adherence to the same.
- Minimize the change over time with close monitoring to batch change over to maximize the efficiency.
- Ensure and monitor the time for production to maximize the output.
Lamination Operations
- Plan shift operations keeping production downtimes related to scheduled maintenance activities in mind
- Allocate job cards to Operators and supervise Operators in the shift to ensure optimum utilization of all resources
- Monitor machine setup according to the desired specifications to ensure the parameters added to the machine are in line with those mentioned on the respective job cards.
- Make process & machine selections based on the job cards.
- Understand and establish all processes for a specific batch type, by understanding it from the section in charge and issue instructions to the jobbers/operators regarding the same
- Coordinate with other shifts in charge in the same or different shifts to ensure smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the processing unit
- Monitoring of the quality online to take immediate actions for correction if required and escalate the same to the section incharge.
- Ensure the SOP is followed for machine cleaning during change over and routine maintenance such as coating knife, cleaning dosing tank, etc.
- Monitoring of proper dissolution and filtration of chemicals
- Ensure the Implementation & following the departmental SOP’s for Production.
- Any Quality deviation/issues observed/occurred during the shift are to be mentioned in the log book & to be informed to the section incharge.
- Ensure efficient material movement of material along with the Job card for proper identification.
- Ensure the storage & stock of WIP at the designated places and ensure the pathways are not blocked.
- Issue slip for chemical as per job card.
Document & Records
- To Maintain the fabric received register
- Record the production entries in ERP & generate the daily production report for analysis
- Record the chemical consumption on a daily basis
- Record production-related shift information such as lot number, amount of fabric coated, total production time, total manpower used, total fabric produced, etc.
- Record quality-related shift information such as number and types of defects, meters of fabric wastage, etc.
- Ensure the record & documentation of production as per the defined system
- Support internal and third-party quality audits; understand all changes in discussion with the unit head and section in charge and apply all recommended measures by training operators/helpers in the updated protocols
Safety
- Responsible for the health & safety of the section to ensure zero occurrence of negative incidents
- Responsible for the use of required PPE’s in the section & also make efforts to make the required PPE’s available on time.
- Escalate the non-adherence to the use of PPE’s to the section in charge & safety officer
Training
- Training operators & helpers on safe working.
- Training of SOP’s & quality issues in all shifts so as to update each and every workmen for improvement in quality
- Discussion on a daily basis with shift workmen regarding the quality issues so as to improve quality
- Train Operators to accurately maintain and record the machine parameters as mentioned in the Job Cards.
- Plan for internal upliftment of helpers to operators with continuous coaching, training & feedback.
